Probably the best thing to do is back-up what you want off of it, format the harddrive and start fresh with XP....

Only effective way I have found to get rid of the thing.

Try to use a restoral disk, thats if you originally had XP on the lap top.. If not, try getting a copy of windows XP and installing it.
