Lived in Scotland for 18 years, but came back to the USA in 1989. Liked the Scots and believe it or not liked the climate.

Spent a bunch of time in Oban (nobody here believes they have palm trees). Bought an old 76' trawler with two other divers (both wildly insane Celts) that we had rigged out as a diving boat - diving stage, helium racks, decompression chamber - the lot - and we were raising cargo from a torpedoed cargo ship called the Buitenzorg in the Sound of Mull just off the island.

Great fun, that. Had a ball.

I liked Edinburgh, but almost all my time there was spent dealing with patent infringement cases. No fun. Didn't have a ball.

Never saw a puffin while in the water.
