GreenWavx,

I had a similar experience over the weekend. I was at a 40th birthday party for a neighbor and a number of us were talking about computers and kids and problems with downloading things over the internet and computers crashing from viruses. These guys are all pretty frustrated with their home computers. The subject then turned to security and what a hassle it is to remember passwords. Several of the participants in this conversation are high ranking officers with publicly traded companies.

The next thing I know, one of the participants (who I did not know personally) said his IT guy told him they were looking at some new computer security that was built in a chip. When I mentioned a trusted platform module, he said that sounded familiar. Then he said they asked him to test a finger print reader on a demo computer they had. I told them a little bit about what I have learned from the WAVX board here and he said that would solve a lot of his security concerns. Several of them were also familiar with the new FDE drives and were anxious to test them. It's interesting that computer security is now creeping into casual conversations between business executives. Mind you these were not IT guys but were finance, accounting and distribution executives. They have all kinds of stuff on their business laptops and fear their kids getting hold of them at home.

This is about the third time I've heard about TPMs in casual conversations with friends who are in banking and manufacturing industries. I guess this is more proof that the industry is becoming more and more educated as we speak. I finally feel as though we are really now on the ground floor of this technology revolution. The only question now is how much market share Wave systems can capture.
