DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 2001--Airtech International Group, Inc., (OTCBB:AIRG) stated today, that there are clear indications that its TITAN III Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO) product technology is an effective solution against airborne Anthrax spores that could invade homes and office buildings through the air intake duct of the heating and cooling system due to bio-terrorist activities. Sandia National Laboratories, the Department of Energy, and the United States Department of Defense, have heavily researched PCO as a defense against germicidal and chemical warfare. A variety of indoor air quality experts have referred to the technology as, "industry changing". Airtech is believed to be the first company to incorporate PCO technology into a cost effective, commercially viable induct product that is available to the public for use in homes and commercial buildings. The TITAN III is the first of a number of PCO based products engineered by Airtech. Airtech's Medical Director, R. John Harris, stated, "The TITAN III elevates air filtration to air sterilization. Contaminants flowing through the heating and cooling system must flow through the TITAN III, and the air is sterilized of such contaminants. The technology has been tested, with outstanding results achieved, against toxic molds and gases as well as particles. We know also that the process kills airborne bacteria and viruses. There is every reason to believe that the TITAN III will neuter, oxidize and eliminate Anthrax spores as it does to other airborne biological contaminants." George Dai, PhD who has performed exhaustive testing on the TITAN III technology, said, "In our tests the TITAN III technology killed nearly 100% of a variety of potentially dangerous biologicals in the air stream of the heating and cooling system, in addition to substantially reducing volatile organic compounds or chemical fumes. Given the biological characteristics of Anthrax spores, there is every reason to believe that the technology would be equally effective in eliminating them." Theodor Sterling Associates Limited, a 27 year-old, Canadian, IAQ consulting firm has reviewed and accepted Airtech's PCO technology as a viable solution to this problem, based on the information submitted by Airtech. Sterling Air President, Elia Sterling, will serve on a task force for BOMA BC Canada, that will hold a November 15th, 2001 Conference on the subject of safety and security in commercial buildings. The BOMA task force will develop a solutions based document that will list and define such problems, and reference service and product solutions such as the TITAN III. Sterling Air is also establishing a "Pro Active Building Audit Program" that will identify areas of a building that are vulnerable areas to bio-terrorist attacks, and other security problems. The audit will recommend corrective action, including product and service solutions, e.g. strategically located filtration equipment such as the TITAN III. Airtech is pursuing a multi-phase marketing strategy to present their PCO technology to a variety of major heating and cooling equipment manufacturers, contractors, and the Building Owners and Managers Association, International (BOMA), www.boma.org which is the largest building owners and managers association of its type in the world. BOMA is taking an active leadership role through its Emergency Resource Center to advise its membership of available building safety and security measures.
