You mean this Quebec location?

Petresa
CANADA INC.

5250, Becancour Blvd.
Becancour, QC G9H 3X3
CANADA
Tel. : (819) 294-1414
Fax : (819) 294-2626
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Looks pretty good to me...

WHAT DO WE PRODUCE?

The Petresa Canada plant produces 120,000 MT of linear alkylbenzene (LAB) a year. Linear alkylbenzene is a compound used in the production of various detergents. It is obtained from paraffin and benzene. Under normal weather conditions, linear alkylbenzene is a transparent, odourless liquid.

Linear alkylbenzene and linear alkylbenzene sulfonate are entirely biodegradable and do not accumulate in the environment. (The Dco would like that!)

Linear alkylbenzene is the raw material used to manufacture linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS), an active ingredient in the formulation of detergents. LAS eliminates dirt by its physicochemical mechanism and it is one of the surfactants most widely used in liquid cleaners and in powder.

LAS has been used for more than 25 years in the manufacture of detergents and it is known for its excellent quality/price ratio.

Yep, their process is actually somewhat similar to ACMG's. And they use a hydrogenation process...there's the hydrogen component. And they produce various liquids...there's the pipeline into the port. Good work Pete. Do you know if anyone's been up there to snoop around?

Edit: Now does anyone know for sure that ACMG is working on a plant there??
