Nope, missed that pic, but doesn't make any difference. My point wasn't about rivers, it was that while rain is great, it probably isn't that huge a deal. Other than water probably wouldn't need to be hauled as far when not next to a river. And the fact that it isn't easy or economical to build something to catch the amount of rainfall needed to frac a well.

I don't know that part of Texas, but I am familiar with dealing with water issues in the south. Seemed to me we either didn't have enough, or the average rainfall came in a 2-3 day period and we didn't know what to do with the excess. Wasn't that way all the time, but anyone that has driven thru SE NM or South and West Texas has seen the flood control dikes that are just there to slow and control the flooding, not to catch and hold the runoff. Plus the fact that runoff in that country goes into the ground pretty darn fast.

Being an old rancher, we were always talking about the lack of rain or how great the last rain was, while looking forward to the next one.
