Keith, I think you're underestimating it. K7 gets 1-2% increase from single to dual channel with nForce2. I expect more with A64 because the PSB won't be saturated nearly as quickly as EV6 is. We'll see.

Keith,

On average, expect a gain of 1.5% from going from a 64bit to a 128bit channel (PC3200).

I think the apps that are heavily benchmarked will see bigger improvement. Within 2 months or so, we should have 2.2 GHz Socket 940, 939 and 754, which is going to provide a good laboratory of relative application under single, dual channel, registered, unbuffered.

Keith, 1.5%? Is that all the difference is (on most apps) between the FX-51 and the Athlon64 3200+, if you slow the FX down to 2.0Ghz, from 2.2Ghz?

How big is the latency penalty for registered dual-channel vs. unregistered single-channel memory?
