#41874 RE: Snowrider2 #41873

Welllll, legally there are some interesting issues here. Foremost in the new AMD "accidental violation" of the Courts seal order (WHICH I HAVE NOT READ) is the NEC (?) issue.

If Intel goes to ONE distributor and says, "if you distribute almost all my stuff, I will give you ad revenue", does this violate US antitrust law?

Interesting issues. Should not Intel have the right to say, I am not going to pump ONE vendor, if that vendor is going to sell my competitor's stuff. I am going to help that vendor with some proprietary secrets like how to best hook up peripherals, but do I really want to train someone who will use that expertise to sell my competitor's stuff????

Legal issue.

This is one vendor, this is NOT the "Target Market". AMD can do the same thing with another vendor.

And if all this happens in Japan, is it really the issue for an American court to decide? Shouldn't a US Court all a Japanese Court to decide Japanese law?

These are good, interesting issues. But they are confusing. Perhaps it is best to say that when AMD has competitive products and supply, they just sell more............
