I think what you have said about how the kids turned out speaks volumes about "IF" you handled it correctly. No one can know untill they are in the place you were with those kids. The kids seem fine, so YOU must have done a good job. The summer we had Dan's nephew (just 2 months) he never asked us, at 12, he just knew.....no need for questions, I guess. He DID know that he was loved here. I thought THAT was my only job.......that and chewing his ass to get off the computer and go outside......
Dan and I don't kiss good-night in front of my parents,it would make them uncomfortable..........but he's in their wills. HELL, after 13 years, I'M surprised that my Mother doesn't send him a check every month....just for KEEPING me............
We do what seems right at the moment. Done with the best intentions, it is rarely all THAT wrong.
BY the way, Jeffsky, FINE save with the 7-year-old.......I'd have freaked TOO.........

That's what's so great about kids that age...they just say or ask whatever they want without worrying about it.

We were driving the boys home Sunday evening and Tristan says 'Hey Debbie...when was time first set?'

After I explained I wasn't THAT old and honestly didn't know the answer...and we stopped laughing...I told him I'd ask my friend Jeff.

Kids are great!

My lunatic. Yeah right.
