Could insider trading be an issue as to why they don't buy on the open market?

Vickers, I think you are missing the point. Options don't just go to management, they go to the engineers who have largely helped Wave get to this point. Wave's technical talent is it's greatest (and maybe only) strength at this point. SKS and Lark aren't the ones writing code, folks.

I usually have very little to add to this board, but his is one subject I know a great deal about because I'm an IT recruiter. And if you think for one moment that other companies aren't going after Wave's talent now, and even harder in the future, you're nuts. We don't have the money to overpay these people (and if we were paying them enough to keep them put, a lot of shareholders would be whining and crying about the "burn rate").

Options are the goldent handcuffs that keep your talent base in place. If we start losing them we're in trouble. This has to be done in my opinion.

if i were invested in a ho-hum company treading water in a mature industry and technology, i would be just as concerned by this options grant as the next guy. but i am not so invested!

vickers, well said. There will be a conference call between now and the shareholder meeting, so there should be some opportunity to discuss this with sks.
