Rod
Reading the posts on the ALS forum are heart wrenching to say the least. Most of them are from people who have ALS in one form or another and there is a lot of skepticism about possible treatments. They have been bombarded by every type of drug and treatment imaginable. No wonder they view Iplex with a wary eye. If this works to prolong the lives of any of these patients it will be a tremendous breakthrough. Iplex will not be a cure but may counteract the effects of ALS as far as biological wasting of their bodies is concerned.
There also seems to be a growing resentment that Iplex is made here but not available to people in the US who want to try it. I can sense a swell of support coming from those afflicted with this dreadful disease, providing Iplex works to stem some effects.
DNA-TRCA should be very careful not to stand in the way of the availability of Iplex if this treatment works!

Rod, if I'm not mistaken one of the posters from the USA says he is now receiving IPLEX off label at $72 per dose from Insmed. He says he is injecting one dose per day, but plans to up that to two doses per day soon, and eventually will go to four doses per day (the maximum recommended)... if his physician sees no adverse effects. He also sets out the procedure to obtain IPLEX, but cautions it is too early for him to assess its effectiveness.
