Despite the fact that basic EV technology has been around for many years, they were not mainstreamed for production. Prior to the last 15 years or so, it was rare to see an EV on the road.
The tech now is far beyond what was invented many years ago. The battery technology continues to evolve and gets better every year.
Now that EVs are produced in large numbers we will see where the problems are and there will be improvements and resolutions.
Manufacturing and new technologies is what drives innovation.
