#6483 RE: PC retired #6473

Tell me how I was fooled with this one, happened probably 10-15 years ago. I was being transported on a 60'-80' boat, single crew member/operator. No exhaust stacks, no noise. The operator wore a fully enclosed helmet facing the rear of the boat of which had only windows in the front of the wheel house. I don't remember the controls but they were not a wheel or joystick, and no throttle.

I asked to see the engine and was lead below deck, down to the bottom of the hull near the center of boat. It looked like a white metal bathtub with a cover. He removed the cover and then removed a thick wire mesh looking device which was titanium colored, about the same size as the inside except concaved. It rested in something that looked exactly like cooked/thin oatmeal several inches from the top of the container, no smell or heat was noticeable.

No idea how it worked, but the boat had no rudder, no prop shafts, no vibration, no noise, and could manage about 40-50 knots at best guess.
