#210922 RE: BullNBear52 #210920

I didn't think the season ends after 83-85 games or so depending on what team you are. I think the Mets if they fix the bullpen will make the playoffs easily (I think Bringing butto up will help, because he can actually pitch), W-L record means nothing to me in evaluating a pitcher, I give you countless examples why it is the dumbest stat in history Jacob Degromm with the mets some of the Felix hernandez years when he was with the mariners off the top of my head. All you need to know about w-l, a pitcher can pitch 8 great innings leave with a 1-0 lead, the closer comes in in the top of the 9th gives up a run, and than you score a run in the bottom of the inning. The closer who just blew the games gets the win. And since this game is played in the bullpen alot now, it has made W-L record even less important in my opinion for a starting pitcher.

As for ERA Severino is pitching well. He is not been Hyped nor have I ever acted like Yankee fans that gil is this unhittable pitcher, penciling Gil as the #2 guy in the rotation. Why? Because he made a handful of starts and not only the innings this is gonna catch up too him, but so is the league this guy only throws mostly two pitches, once he goes around the league there is gonna be an adjustment, could in the offseason he adjust with a third pitch that is very helpful and more used part of his pitching tools. Absolutely not saying for a second gil can't be very good in the long run, especially getting these innings will help for next year. But Yankee fans thought the innings wall wasn't coming, that he was gonna continue to be dominant, I even heard comps to the 1985 Doc Gooden year, which is absurd at every level before his recent fall off. Severino on the mets (Who admittingly the mets strength is there lineup.) But if all goes well he will start game 2 of a playoff game, because the mets ace has yet to pitch a game yet. And lets face it Christain Scott is coming up today who also has really good stuff. Severino has been the active ace of the mets pitching staff, but on a championship roster, and keep in mind the mets have told us this could be a playoffs, where the yanks bringing in soto was an all in year. But severino is a 2/3 this year, he eats innings, he goes deep in games. He pitches very well. But he is not exactly dominant either.

I have mentioned the mets alot. in 5/9 post counting this one I'm writting have been about the mets. I have to say this would be the first team ever that I rooted for if they make the playoffs and I actually think they will, that I have ever thought was done, and they came back to life and made the playoffs, this 2024 mets team might actually be it. So technically 6/9 Because I did mention the mets in this post as well. So yes my focus is on the Mets without a doubt, but doesn't mean I don't look all around baseball as well. All is just my opinion of course.
