Listen to the ASM and you would know that LWLG is in full control of its own products, which are Modulators and Materials, so there would be no expectation of NRE revenue imo, unless a Customer wanted LWLG to design a specific OE for them which is possible

1) Product Sales: 200gbs modulators & 4x200 modulator arrays

2) Material Sales: Licensing Agreements for each of its Perk Series of which I believe there currently 5 different ones available to License, Lebby has said some of these have specs tailored to specific Customer Applications

LWLG for several years now has had partnering throughout the entire Industry food chain including High Speed Packaging, Module & Transceiver makers

As Lebby said in the ASM, many of these Customers will want to pick and choose which Lasers etc they will want to meet their System Integration needs, Lebby mentioned Arista specifically as an example

You said :” Takeover - the big chipmaking companies are all fabless, with the notable exception of Intel, who is now clearly separating out their foundry business as well. ”
The term "big chipmaking companies" encompasses a wide range of chip companies, Some are fabless, meaning they design chips but outsource production, while others design and manufacture their own chips. You probably mean fabless operators like Qualcomm ( mobile) NVIDIA ( graphic cards) AMD (CPU and GPU), Broadcom ( networking). Next to Intel, Samsung has its own foundry and even TSMC, as a foundry designs its own chips and announced its entry into silicon photonics recently. Agree on the ‘ integrated communications companies or material companies’ as more likely acquirers. NVIDIA uses TSMC as a foundry. Who knows TSMC’s recent announcement to move into silicon photonics and be ready from 2027 onwards may have to do something with that relationship.

What do you think the effect will be on the world market if Taiwan shuts down their chipmaking plants in the event of a Chinese invasion. Does this help LWLG or hurt it?
