I've heard of a whole scallion, no root, wrapped to cover the white part with thin salami or thin beef that is smeared with a little cream cheese called a polish tulip and/or a polish rose, by Polish-American people. So that might be a common thing. They're good, but it breaks my heart when I see those same people only eat the part at the bottom wrapped in meat and cheese. The green is the best part and they throw it out 😓
