Anavex 3-71 Treatment Periods Need to be Determined
Good question.
Ideally, a patient takes a curative drug only so long as it is needed. After a period of treatment, will Anavex 3-71 permanently terminate the causes of schizophrenia symptoms, or, will the drug be needed chronically, continuously, as in the case with insulin for diabetics?
If 3-71 can produce persisting, on-going therapeutic results after a specific treatment period, wonderful. Hope that proves out. But more likely the root causes of schizophrenia are genetic or biochemical anomalies that persist, which can’t be ultimately fixed by 3-71. Most likely, treatments will require chronic, persisting dosings.
Perhaps after a treatment period, dosings and dosages can be reduced to a low maintenance level. We won’t know until proper clinical trials are run to determine these matters.
