Agreed. Kudos to Tom Bishop for making Missling squirm a little. Unlike Missling, Bishop has subscribers to his newsletter who are not happy with him for recommending Anavex for their portfolios. Missling doesn’t like to be challenged and was unprepared for the question (in fact, he’s typically unprepared for most questions). He fumbled his way through a non answer that satisfied no one. The truth is as you said. Missling and the other directors have been enriched with cheap stock options for getting over very low bars and they haven’t spent a dime out of their own pockets. I loved how Missling said each it’s up to each director to decide whether to buy. No. You tell them in no uncertain terms that you expect them to step up and “show the flag” when the stock is low. Insider buying sends a clear message to investors that officers and directors believe in their company, especially when the stock is near multi-year lows. A couple thousand shares each isn’t going to force any of these people to decide between buying stock or paying the rent.
