#686269 RE: skitahoe #686265

I used to drink one glass of red wine with dinner and had replaced that with nonalcoholic low calorie beer. Then my last lab results were shockingly different (bad) and I’m drinking water, coffee, and green and herbal teas and as little sugar as possible and very low carbs in general.

Lost weight and feeling healthier but not exercising enough yet. Hopefully the numbers are improving!

I don’t get it. I was raised eating pasta often and three well balanced meals a day, and was a good, even a little low, weight until I started traveling for work a lot, but still only gained 20 pounds for a long time eating pretty much everything.

Maybe it’s age and a much less physically demanding lifestyle since retirement and especially the pandemic, that contributed to some kind of metabolic syndrome it seems.

But things could be a lot worse and giving up bread, pasta, pizza, and desserts, and wine and beer, is not too big a sacrifice for improving one’s health, isn’t it? :-)
