THere is something about sports at a high level where you just as a team raise it up. I was once on a team that regular season we absolutely dominated set a record for wins. Filled the rink - I was 17 year old rookie. Loaded with Forward talent - 2 or 3 guys played pro after that but we blew it to 4th place team in playoffs I think we were 43-3-4 . I had 2 goals in case you were wondering lol ( entire year- was injuured so maybe 35 games)
But I played for a HIgh school team the year Before. we were ok. our leading scorer who led the league was blind and couldn't skate or shoot. We had 2 rookies who eventually played pro but they were 15 that year. WE got magical towards the end of the year.
Best example ever was the Lake Placid USA Gold medal team. IM Canadian but I loved it
