It does show his immaturity though. That will change..or not.
My guess is that it won't change. Not for some time, at least. He's a spoiled child who thinks it's deeply unfair that he won't be getting a do-over. It seems never to have occurred to him that there may be consequences for screwing up, particularly if you break the law while doing so.
It's pathetic. The only defense he can muster is to say it was all Caroline's fault.
And let's not forget that he was originally out on bond before his trial. That is until he got caught violating the rules of his release. He contacted at least one witness against him and tried to intimidate his/her against saying bad things at the trial.
