#362 RE: gfp927z #361

By 2050, it’s projected that the global electric grid will need to double in capacity to meet the 86% increase in electricity demand* anticipated as technologies develop and middle classes rise in emerging markets. In addition, the push toward net-zero emissions by 2050, driven by global mandates and goals, is set to escalate the development of copper-intensive infrastructure, the manufacturing of electric vehicles (EVs) and the development of clean energy technologies such as solar and wind power.

Steve Schoffstall, Director, ETF Product Management discusses the extensive role copper plays in meeting global net-zero carbon emission goals, expanding and upgrading power grids, building clean energy infrastructure, and manufacturing more electric vehicles—and the opportunity this creates in copper mining ETFs. Sanjana Prabhakar, Product Development Specialist of Index Research at Nasdaq, will discuss some of the latest research topics on the Nasdaq Sprott Copper Miner Index.
