#209327 RE: Eli's Gone #209326

Considering the hundred of millions dollars squandered by Brian Cashman on bad contracts, what's another $84 million?

It' s looking like Marcus Stroman will have a better regular season than Carlos Rodan.

Marcus Stroman looks sharp in second straight start

Here are the takeaways.

- Making his third start of the spring, Marcus Stroman was dominant in his four scoreless innings against the Blue Jays. The right-hander didn’t allow a hit, walked just one and struck out two on 53 pitches (33 strikes). It was the second straight spring start for Stroman, who signed a two-year, $37 million deal in the offseason; he pitched four innings without allowing a run, improving to a 1.74 ERA (0.77 WHIP) across 10.1 innings.

Stroman relied on getting weak contact and ground ball outs on the day as he’s done throughout his entire career. Of the 12 outs he recorded, four came on the ground (including a double play against Bo Bichette) and three were popouts to the infield. The only balls that left the infield were Justin Turner’s lineout to left in the first and Santiago Espinal’s lineout to right in the second.

The right-hander also made sure to work on his entire arsenal of pitches which was most apparent with the first batter of the game. Facing Bichette to lead things off, Stroman struck him out using five different pitches (sinker, slider, cutter, splitter, slurve).
