I sometimes do long bike rides on the W&OD (Washington & Old Dominion) bike path from Vienna out past Leesburg and they have a number of great microbreweries along the way (Caboose, Old Ox brewery, and even a distillery in Purcellville, VA). Unfortunately a large number of green heads, NMBYs and others are heavily opposing these natural gas and/or electrical grid expansion/improvements, but guess what? They are majority want their nice EVs and high speed internet, AI, etc, and iPhones, but they opposed the solutions to keep up with their quickly growing power draw! Kind of a real oxymoronic behavior imho.

From the Louden article:

"Bills introduced by Sen. Suhas Subramanyam (D-32), Del. Richard C. Sullivan Jr. (D-6) and Del. Kannan Srinivasan (D-26) would require data centers to meet certain energy-efficient standards to be eligible for sales and use tax exemptions."

Only a matter of time before other states and the feds have similar requirements.

How on earth will they reach the energy efficiency goals?
