Looking ahead, AI won't hit a stride; it will gallop, then fly like the wind. When that happens, the job losses could devastate civilization. Computer programmers will be the first to go. Laborers will have jobs, but there will fewer laborers needed, as the middle class will no longer be spending like drunken sailors on home remodeling and anything else you can think of, except drugs.
Conspiracy theory: The Marxist Democrats will use AI to shrink the bourgeoisie, after expanding the proletariat class over the past 2 years with unlimited illegal immigration. To fulfill their plan/vision, they need a huge proletariat. With probably 20M or more illegals already here, no problem.

Critical race theory, DEI, cancel culture--all Marxist tools. It is in your face. A classic example is the idea of slavery reparations. That, more than anything, could cause extreme racism and achieve the Marxist goal of dividing the country along lines of race. There aren't going to be reparations, but Africian Americans who expect it will be bitter. It is a win-win for the Marxists.
