No objections here - smaller size, lower power, higher speed, lower cost are all good things :-)
Maybe one nuance on size: In the context of pluggable transceivers, it's a bit black and white: either the solution fits in the form factor or it doesn't. Shrinking further "only" reduces cost per die. In the context of co-packaging for chip-to-chip optical links the density becomes a much stronger consideration.
