Ramsey: I had to immediately buy a laptop for my daughter this past Friday...the poor girl drowned her old Compaq in orange juice.

I went to several shops until I could find an XP machine. Got a fantastic (sell-out) deal on a Toshiba with an Intel CoreDuo processor, 2 Mb RAM, DVD/CD-RW, 120 Gb hard disk etc. If you need a laptop right now these XP sell-out models can be had for rather little money - and XP works!

I've played a bit with Vista machines before but there are still quite a few driver issues with legacy peripherals...
