Around my time, '84-'94, mostly land based aircraft,
that shot was from the USS Forrestal, in the last of the A-3's= VAK-208

De-Com in '89, went to a helo squad & saw Desert Shield from a brand new
helo sqad 2-3yrs from misson ready,...missed the whole thing,..training for a possible,...
perhaps fun.

Went to C-9's which didn't make any since,
VR-55 switched to C-130's but,
they were 4 brand spanking new, off the assembly line aircraft,...
re-train pilot's not just for airframe quals but
just mission readiness,..lost a few there,..don't blame them,
2-3yrs from being mission ready,

Just got tired of not being able to transfer,...sitting around the shop,..bored, etc

Edit-- now I'm an Union Electrician of 24yrs,..
house, 2 grown girls, etc,..
perhaps there was a reason DS never happened for me,
or the other shit that happen after that,..
or still going.
