I dwell in the shelter of the Most High
and abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.
Surely You will deliver me
from the snare of the fowler,
and from the deadly plague.
You will cover me with Your feathers;
under Your wings I will find refuge;
Your faithfulness is a shield and rampart.’’
I will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the calamity that destroys at noon.
Though a thousand may fall at my side,
and ten thousand at my right hand,
no harm will come near me.
I will only see it with my eyes
and witness the punishment of the wicked.
Because I have made the LORD my dwelling—
my refuge, the Most High—
no evil will befall me,
no plague will approach my house.
For God will command His angels concerning me
to guard me in all my ways.
They will lift me up in their hands,
so that I will not strike my foot against a stone.
I will tread on the lion and cobra;
I will trample the young lion and serpent.
Because I love God, God will deliver me;
because I know God’s name, He will protect me.
When I call out to God,
He will answer me;
God will be with me in trouble.
God will deliver me and honor me.
With long life God will satisfy me
and show me God’s salvation.
