Application fee for orphan drugs is waived. So no charge for Rett. AD will have to pay.

I wouldn't be surprised if the difference in fees is because Europe pays for the process largely with tax dollars and the US with applicant fees (raising a greater likelihood of industry capture). I know no specific facts supporting the preceding sentence, I'm just guessing.
