Tradercci, almost nothing beats S&P 500 index funds which is where I have much of my money. My sons, including my CPA son, invest similarly except they've had some in QQQ since 2009. We all have individual blue chip stocks as well, and almost never sell them. Note that Berkshire Hathaway has had money in two index funds, SPY and VOO, for several years. Tax minimization and low costs are important for us.
Should add that I have some bonds and bank CDs. Diversification is vital.
