I agree with your second paragraph.
As far as your third paragraph, the same came be said ..( poor business model etc ) for many if not most businesses especially those struggling with cash flow problems common for mom & pop operations competing against multi billion dollar conglomerates down here in the pinkies.
As far as a” price point that is too high” my opinion is that opinion is way off base if marketing to Doctors and Hospitals because there’s not enough profit it it right now to make it worth their while. Lowering the price point would not only further reduce profits but would also exacerbate that very problem.
Retail sales? Maybe you have a point, but trying to do both has always been Biel’s Achilles Heel imo. But that’s only MY opinion.
