There have been no clinical trials with A2-73 in MS!

The company is not lying. Prophetic examples are the norm in biotech patents for the simple reason that a patent much be filed before any public disclosure of the invention. A clinical trial producing real examples would be a public disclosure of the invention.

Your lawyer friend is ill informed or perhaps you did not frase the question appropriately.

If clinical trials later turn out not to support the patent claims and examples it becomes pretty useless and is a risk that the company must take. The risk is greater by not filing with prophetic examples and forego patent protection of a compound that turn out beneficial and valueable.

The examples cited in our patents are not actual clinical applications, they are "paper examples", aka "prophetic". We have not performed clinical trials in MS.
Be wary of confirmation bias. This is a good example of how folks mislead themselves and others. Ignore the nonsense.
