Yup, and that is a pic from the 1990's Aug Gold Chart, I used to use VCR's to record the commodity quote strip every 10 minutes that you still see today on CNBC(Used to be FNN) and play back to plot the prices for 22 commodities on graph paper...really allows you to get a feel for price movement and is how I started trading/charting
