I worked my entire career for a S&P 500 company at the holding company level in a financial/legal capacity. Missling is an absolute failure when it comes to effective corporate communications and shareholder guidance. I've seen folks' careers sacrificed immediately by the BOD over mistakes resulting in misstating quarterly earnings by one penny per share. There is a zero tolerance level at the executive leadership level. He would not have survived at a large publicly held company where accountability is job number one. Take that to the bank.
All good questions and those criticisms of Missling are well-founded. But none of them will change the outcome. If I thought that they would then I would simply sell my shares.
There is nothing to be gained by issuing non-material PR. When there is something material then it will be announced. What life sciences company did you run?
Missling recently gave us the update on the data release -- it will be in the form of a "major publication." That means it's short term but the exact timing is out of his hands.
