Let’s look again at the 3-5 elements of Metabolic Syndrome set forth by Mayo Clinic in the AMRN PR this past weekend; Jasbg provides the link to the PR. One of those elements in the pre-specified group is a waistline in men of at least 40”, in women of at least 35”, as base line. Now ask “What was the waistline of those patients in the Vascepa group after 4+ years of follow-up?” After 10+ years of Vascepa, I have a closet of suits with pants having a large waistline that no longer are wearable; my waistline is now 31-32”. I have lost BMI and 25-30 lbs of weight, including body fat at waistline. Is Vascepa still under study as an oral weight-loss drug with little or no side effects?
