Mav, I really don't believe that a person is a liar if something they believe doesn't come to pass. Many of us opined that we'd have approvals and be in the $20's a couple years ago, we were wrong, but I don't think that we were lying, just wrong. I think the same applies to some of LG's statements, DI, etc. as well.
As I see it, a lie is something you say while knowing you're wrong about what you're saying. If what you're saying you believe is correct but it doesn't come to pass, you're wrong, but not a liar.
IMGN's CEO decades ago would say things were happening soon, sometimes they didn't happen for years, but all he said would happen eventually did. Clearly we all disagree on his use of soon, but he wasn't a liar, things did happen, in geological time a few years is practically an instant, perhaps in his mind it's soon.
