#5439 RE: KCCO7913 #5438

Will lumentum continue to sell DML’s to Poet, now that they have acquired Cloud Light?

In the pluggable transceiver market Poet is a competitor to Cloud Light. This maybe a reason Poet brought on a Chinese supplier of DML’s a few weeks back?

It’s early days yet for the remote light source business. Celestial AI won’t start shipping samples to customers until late 2024. I would think once they see projected numbers they may bring on alternate suppliers. Is Poets solution 75% cheaper? I’m just relying on what Poet tells us.

I have not seen anything out of Ayar Labs lately indicating if they are still on schedule for ramp up in 2024 for their optical I/O solution. To have 3 remote light source suppliers on board indicates they are projecting substantial volumes Jmo.

It’s like the whole industry is waiting for the ramp up of the 51.2 T switches like the tomahawk 5 to be deployed in mass numbers.

Just have to let it play out.

Cheers
