think that the majority of TSLA investors may want Elon to delegate enough to a public spokesperson, so s/he can speak authoritatively and convincingly about stuff, some of which may be related to PR and Sales. However, in a company like Tesla, it is awfully hard to separate tech from sales and PR. I think Elon knows just his style of being honest at every turn, and he does not (I am not even sure he can!) consider how his statements play.
