Good points, this is my favorite one that you’ve hit, storage and transport challenges
Someone recently received a sizable grant of taxpayer money to design and build an underground storage system for hydrogen
Hydrogen leaks through most materials (even rock) like mosquitoes going through a chain link fence
Helium, a significantly larger molecule, seep’s through mylar party balloons easily, even at nearly zero pressure
That’s why they visibly deflate after only a day or two
Hydrogen stored in underground reservoirs would be comically absurd if it wasn’t just another waste of our (and future generations) tax dollars
Yep, GSPE is in a market space that is being abused in every conceivable manner …
But that WILL CHANGE
Veterans of the oil and gas sector know this and they know how to work the cyclical swings
Another current dynamic that I don’t think is getting enough recognition, the military industrial complex vs green energy transition
Essentially it’s one group of enormous donors vs another group that is equally well funded
Historically, the former is always the victor
If Rogers becomes the speaker, that battle is over (look at who has huge MIC facilities in his state, Alabama, there are at least 8 of the biggest ones)
I would really like to see that dynamic play out on different terms though
And I really, really hope that hydrogen fusion doesn’t suddenly determine the outcome of any current geopolitical or socioeconomic conflict
I’m not an Aquarius but I will gladly wave that flag if it will bring peace and harmony
