Because they are buying shares. People/institutions buy shares when they want to own a piece of the company. Usually that happens when the company has something good to offer and they see a bright future for the company so not only do they buy but also add over time.

On the other hand some people on this board think that institutions are forced to lose money because they have to buy shares in a company against their will just because, but it’s ok they will waive the losses as tax losses and can buy into more losing companies and lose more money because they are being forced to do that. They don’t like it but there is nothing they can do about it.
