NVM, the quad core design will provide a significant boost. Just needed to think about it a bit more. Comparing C2D and K8L is somewhat of an apples to oranges comparison.

Snow, the rhetoric coming from AMD is both dubious and misleading. They can get away with AMDroids taking away grandiose impressions while legally covering themselves with Clintonesque logic.

Case in point: The latest claim from AMD is the following:

> Simulations conducted in AMD laboratories indicate that certain database applications will see performance improvements up to 70 percent and certain floating point applications will experience performance gains of up to 40 percent over platforms powered by current dual-core AMD Opteron processors.

You should already see where this is going. ANYONE should be able to see gains of 40-70% by moving from dual-core to quad-core in certain applications. Kind of underwhelming.

Yet the AMDroids will focus on the 40-70% figures because immature minds love to see huge numbers. They'll neglect to see the frame of reference until reality bites. Then they'll go into denial mode.
