Do insiders need to report it if they convert their options to shares and hold the shares? I think that this is more likely to be happening.

You're missing the whole point. Even if they were warrants converted to shares to sell open market. Those shares were bought up in the market and we still rose 100%. Someone is accumulating a lot of shares. I have not seen the latest short report but, that will be out in a few days. I don't believe it's shorts covering. With news coming up a short squeeze is still in play. $1.50 to $2.50 short term
