yes I am well aware. I think you missed the point I was trying to make. If their short term goal is to cause a crash, then someone who is already short can buy shares but not deliver those shares to offset their short position, and then use those shares to overwhelm supply demand in the market and cause the price to crash. Shorts might very well be in large part the reason why we are seeing a steady climb up and the buying would not be considered covering
