#157918 RE: Sonata #157917

Start Your DD here, Newbies:

The company claims "commercial acceptance" in late May, but there is no evidence of that still - now nearly 4 months later. The stock could easily fall to $2 a share if the company continues to do under-deliver, so be careful. A $550m premium on a company that has little evidence that they are nearing anything significant is a VERY risky investment.

First, the stickies have just about all you need to know, especially the Top 3 Red Flags one that I put together after many hours of research and discussion on this thread. It touches on all kinds of issues people bring up here..I'm tired of debating them, so I put the FACTS and my conclusions from those in that. It is a "Sticky" now near the top of the posts, which finally provides some balance to monopolist cheerleaing represented in the stickies for a long time.

In a nutshell:
1. The company has compromised it's credibility in order to survive. The technology has never been close enough to meaningful commercialization to attract credible financing that is shareholder friendly, so the company has had to rely on naive retail investors to buy the shares sold by it's quick-sell financer -- Lincoln Park Capitol. That would be ok if the company didn't mislead its investors to believe large commercialization was near - year after year after year. It seems very much like the company strings investors along.

This year they decided to not review their own 12 months goals -- leaving investors more in the dark than ever before. What company does something like that?

Since they supposedly are closer to commercialization - either the secrecy is because they REALLY ARE near (the message for the naive), or they have to be more secretive because they didn't make much progress because if that were to come out - the stock price would crumble, and they may have to go back to the OTC - putting a major damper on progress. History favors the latter explanation. Common Sense.

2. Some are fine with waiting for as many more years as it takes. KCC, perhaps the most knowledgeable here re the science, said just recently "I'm OK waiting as long as I need.". This is after in January he expressed confidence that the company would show a transceiver demo at the 2023 OFC. Now, just 7 months later he says he is confident a prototype will be ready by March 2024 - a FULL YEAR later. Not long ago he said he would start to worry if one isn't produced by August of 2024. A prototype! This is typical and a result of #1 above - poor messaging. Newbies considering buying in should be very cautious about enthusiastic postings. Even the arguably most knowledgeable posters re the technology are regularly forced to revise their expectations for much further out. This really could go on for many more years with the 'big one' always being just around the corner: Common Sense.

3. The company simply lacks the validation that companies on the verge of something big have: research analyst coverage, large "in the know" stock purchases or funding, announced Partners, and much more. Common Sense. To make up for this, perhaps, the naive retail posters use all kinds of tactics/methods to rationalize the negative and to exaggerate the positives. It is telling that aside from shares owned by management that converted options awarded to them, the shares appear to be almost entirely owned by retail investors and index funds that don't research the company (ie the 2 biggest funds that own Lightwave own some 3500 other stocks, and the pct that Lightwave makes up is less than 1/70 of ONE percent of the entire holdings, as these are massive index funds). People that trump up increases by these funds simply don't know what they are talking about.

When you read the Top 3 Red Flags, you'll see that I provide a background as to what led to up to that post over many months. I'll add to that that frankly I'm pissed off at the way this board has behaved, so my best defense is to fight back with FACTS.

A couple of further points to mention:

Several posters claim I lie and deceive and twist. Read the Red Flags and judge for yourself. Also though, I challenged the board to find just ONE lie or intentional deception from me. Since they say I do this constantly that should be as easy as pie, right? Common Sense. But, guess what? none have found one. That's because truth and honesty and transparency is very important to me. Again read my background to the Red Flags to see more about who I really am if you care. But what matters is the FACTS about the company.

In any case, since some are so worried about trusting me, I'll point out that a long time poster who LOVES to let everyone know how much money he made on the 3 month pump in 2021 posted 10 examples of what he says are lies or deceptions by me. NONE are valid, as I showed in this post: https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=172637202 . Common Sense

Another, who will be easy to recognize has been posting the same enthusiasm for 12 years, and currently posts with the same cut and paste messages 10-15 times each day, especially as soon as someone posts something critical of the company. He grossly exaggerates any possible positive, and has anticipated a 'deal' constantly for the last 11 years. Here's his 3rd post from 2012:

I just know that 2012 will be the year these guys deliver that news of substance that longs need to launch this thing, see ya all in the patch!

Why would someone do this year after year, hour after hour? At least I try to have an actual 'discussion'. He will never answer that question when asked. IMO that tells it all..I do believe many are traders pretend to be otherwise... Common Sense. https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=79280583

So, this Sticky posts represents the culmination of a lot of reseach and while it is ridiculed by some here, it is long overdue as an alternative view to the one-sided view that has dominated the board for years.

I DO wish to help Truth Seekers cut through all the BS you'll find on the board from the naive who have bought into the company hype that keeps their doors open. [/color]Hopefully in time the price will move to a more reasonable level as people like you base their decisions on a proper balance between the dreams and the realities.

Good luck to all.
