Alternatively, you could have a Premium as well as a Free board on the same topic.

You should add that anyone who opts to do that should make sure to give the two boards different names.

If I create a premium board and act as a moderator, should I be allowed to post if I am no longer a premium user? That is currently not possible.

As a moderator of a premium board, one can still moderate while no longer in premium status but cannot post to it.
