I could be wrong, but I believe that the MM's routinely take short, and long positions, supposedly to maintain the marketplace.
Years ago, when a company went on a Russell Index millions of shares transferred to Institutions who had to have a position in those stocks. Simultaneously, a massive short position opened up. Years later it came off the Russell index and the short position was eliminated. To my way of thinking, one or more MM's established that short positions, essentially creating tens of millions of shares and maintained it for years. I don't believe that is the intent of how the MM's are to operate, but they are permitted to do so, and I suspect that substantial NWBO stock is in that status.
