RMB, Jas , CBB et al ...Well that was a night to forget . Sickest I've been in a long long time.
Ended up in the ER at 3 am . Continual coughing cascades . Walk across a room .....uncontrollable coughing . Answering a question ...same .
No sleep and severe headache.
So in the ER ..shortness of breath, high BP , high heart rate but no severe chest pains and O2 saturation around 94-95 ...not great but OK.
Main issue was the coughing
The ER doc gave me a Tylenol / codeine combination thats suppress's the cough response ...and monitored me for an hr .
No Paxlovid at the ER ....mixed opinion on how effective it would be starting close to the 5 day from symptoms onset , cut off date. They want U to start it as early as possible.
1 hr later ...coughing less severe . Discharged with 12 Tylenol / Codeine pills ...take one every 4 hrs .
ER doc ...everyone will eventually get Covid ...yes that includes you CBB .
Vaccination will not stop it .......only reduce your chances of a severe case.
Whatever your political leaning and your view on Covid vaccinations . Covid ( at least in my case ) is a nasty ,kick your butt and stomp on you, virus.
If you haven't had it yet , prepare your body to defend against it as best you can ...especially if you are an old geezer with co morbidities .
I have no idea if being on Vascepa helped at all. Until we see some MITIGATE data ...we will probably never know .
