Did a search for ''NLM and SilOriX '' with AI turned on in Google and the following popped up which i also found interesting;
''Generative AI is experimental. Info quality may vary.
The National Library of Medicine (NLM) and SilOriX are partners in developing a high-speed silicon-organic hybrid modulator. This modulator converts data from electric to optical signals.
NLM is the world's largest biomedical library.
It conducts research in biomedical informatics and data science.
SilOriX is a high-tech startup that develops technologies for energy-efficient electro-optic conversion of signals in high-speed communication.
SilOriX manufactures components for building and accessing high-speed telecommunications networks.

This reminds me of a conversation I had when Z was here. From his days flying combat missions in Iraq, he always wanted everyone to see everything they could see from above in real-time.

Remember that silicon photonis speed is maxed out so in order to increase the amount of data they need to double up on the devices and they require a power Hungry Driver and that would take up additional space and require additional power.

Notice We keep seeing statements across the industry that are very similar to what Lebby said about lightwaves Polymers performance and size. Is this just a coincidence?

You tell me.

"Assessment of Ayar Labs' in-package optical I/O solution showed a 7x bandwidth improvement, a 5x decrease in power consumption, and a 12x footprint reduction versus a commercial state-of-the-art system."
