Especially a lot of rugged anti-socialist rural folks are going to be begging for another socialist support system.
Many are a lot like my "conservative" little brother, 10 years younger, a Gen X rugged individualist to the extent of always receiving a paycheck from my parents. They're the only loons who are more attracted to Trump than in 2016. My sister and I are baffled him and his views.
When he discovered Mitt Romney wanted to end Medicare and Social Security benefits for people under age 50, like he and his wife he left the Republican party and became "an Independent" - at least to the extent that such a financially and socially dependent person can call themselves "an Independent".
I really think a lot of rural homes will have to go off-grid because the costs will be too great to serve isolated customers with that much infrastructure with greatly increased costs.
They'll no longer be "under the thumb of big power". You'd think that would make people like my late-conspiracy loving father happy.
A lot of home owners in vulnerable places are also going to be able to escape from the tyranny of "big insurance", as no one will be selling it to them where they live. Just in Ron DeSantis land where the intrusive Republican deep-state unwittingly becomes the only insurer.
Just like all these older Americans demanding that Republicans repeal and replace Medicare. Just mentally ill and living in their own fantasy world where crazy shit like that makes sense.
